  1. Agreed; and instead of her (feigned or otherwise) "how dare you" behaviour, and defensive remarks of "You don't know the circumstances", she could actually relate what led to her situation... Unless, of course, those details would reveal her incompetence...

  2. Agreed; this is why, in functioning families, fathers, after scrutiny, give permission for daughters to marry their suitors; experienced, wise fathers know what their daughters need, as opposed to what callow, sheltered, daughters want...

  3.  @JohnGriffith-w2w  Yep, weak character leads to weak life skills, which leads to worse character development and worse life skills...caught in a self-made undertow... She's a liability, not worth "stepping up" to rescue.

"Falling/being in love" is largely reaction and lust; it is an evasion of accountability, since it implies one's lack of impulse control, and inability to make and keep wise courses of action...love is awareness, humility, wisdom, choice, discipline, loyalty, duty, committment, wisdom...maturity. And when a woman says "men need to step up", she is demanding that men rescue her, in a way that saves her pride and absolves her of responsibility...
