Canada’s emissions have been just under or just over 700 mt/GHG a year for 25 years. We’ve gained 10 million citizens in that time & our emissions remained fairly consistent. Production of Canadian resources & export would reduce global emissions & help us get out of the massive financial hole we’re in. While the majority of earth continues to use fossil fuels for decades. Hug a 🇨🇦 pipeline. Do it.

@DanielKivari Promises on far off dates made by people who won’t even be in office doesn’t change today. Or next year. Seen the government do anything substantial? Hire large amounts of firefighters? Train firefighters? Hire more forestry people to manage the forests better? Clear brush? Build fire breaks around towns close to forests? Buy more equipment? Improve our infrastructure for extreme cold & hot temperatures? Prepare our electric grid for millions of electric vehicles? Reroute & create levies in repeat flood zones? Anything? Other than a carbon tax what substantial on the ground actual solutions has our government done? Or even mentioned? Nada.

@drwzer Never said it would solve climate change. You did. But fighting the fires they tell us are getting worse is also important no? Ask the folks in BC if we could use more firefighters, forest management & equipment. Ask the folks who’s town burnt down. I also notice you couldn’t give an example of something substantial the government has done to deal with the fires & floods that are coming.

@DanielKivari Fair enough. I’m someone who pays attention, reads various reports & am somewhat up to speed… I haven’t seen the government implement anything of substance that creates real on the ground solutions to the effects of less predictable weather. We wouldn’t be flying in firefighters from other countries if we were properly prepared. If the government (other than talk & make agreements) did anything of substance I didn’t see it.
