Many hippies became yuppies because FEAR causes people to become insecure and grasp for selfishness as they age. That didn't happen to me, but it did happen to a lot of people I know. Liberalism is love-based, while conservatism is FEAR based. And fear is the OPPOSITE of love. The rightwing is largely anti-Christ, especially "Christian Nationalists."
