  19. Now California is willing to let pines go up in smoke, rather than harvest some of them to thin the forest. My current state (NC) still bans Ribes cultivation, although you can buy plants from out of state vendors that are unaware, or uncaring. I wish there was a "war" on kudzu.

  30. My dad worked in an Oscar Mayer plant. We had bologna in the house, but didn't have hot dogs very often. I wonder what he knew about the manufacture of hot dogs that he never told us.

  31. I had a 6x5 mirror on the wall of my bathroom when I bought my current home. Some past homeowner must have thought that was a good idea. I took it down because I don't need to see so much of myself, and I want the storage a medicine cabinet provides.
