Ironic that manufacturers are required to make ICE vehicle more efficient, but EVs can waste electricity while charging.

"Never mind the potential damage! We have to go green!"
17
If only we could cut even 10% of the government bureaucracy. We could do fine with 25% less.
14
The administration plans on building 500K more charging stations in 6 years, despite term limits giving them only 4 more years (if we are unlucky).
12
NZ was so lucky the day Skeletor finally left office.
11
Imagine the dual threat of icing on your airplane's wings combined with range/power loss due to the cold, and then add in the drain for wing leading edge heaters.
10
@Ifitwerks That BS has already been debunked.
8
Can you imagine a "Classic" EV show with EVs older than 30 years old being proudly displayed by their loving owners?
6
Chargers and connectors should have been standardized from the get-go and the governments handing out subsidies should have demanded it.
5
If you rent a Tesla, make darned sure you get the insurance to cover the stratospheric repair costs that result from what looks like a minor collision.
4
Lawsuits incoming.
3
It would make for great PPV.
3
If they want to keep up with changes in battery technology, they should make the battery easier to swap out.
3
I hate touch screens because the car hits a bump just as you are trying to touch a small square on the screen.

This story reminds me of my 2nd car, a 1973 Pontiac Firebird. If it was summer, I could not use the AC in traffic because the radiator needed to be replaced. When I took a summer trip that took me up the Grapevine out of the LA basin, I had to roll the windows down and run the heater to keep the engine from overheating.
2
@shovelguggelheim8454 I certainly wish I had replaced the radiator (and the sagging headliner). But the 1967 Chevelle I sold before buying it would be the one I would have kept if I thought about it and knew what upgrades would be available in the future.
2
The other "shocking" thing is that armed robbers aren't going up and down the line taking phones, wallets, cash, and jewelry.
2
They are already working to throttle fuel production and they've raised prices any way they can.
2
I looked at the specs for my vehicle before buying it because I wanted to park in the garage. I even rearranged the garage to accommodate it. And I'm not buying that salmon died from tire dust. How do they know it wasn't fairy dust?
2
I used to watch EV racing. It happened on small, indoor tracks with slots in them and metal strips to transmit power to the cars. I cracked up when I heard an ad trying to excite people about the new electric "Mustang SUV performance vehicle".
2
Throw away the crutches and the disability is there for all to see.
2
Imagine how torn up the roads will be with heavier busses and trucks on the road.
2
Obama had the same devastating effect on solar companies when he praised them.
2
Used car salesmen are the only ones happy about this.
2
Ironic that submarines are forbidden to use sonar near whale areas, but wind farms can do what they please. When I got laid off in the past, I would have loved to have the cushy safety net German workers get.
2
"This car's got a lot of brass!" - Sales "person" that hates his/her/its job. The 3 Totems are like the 3 shells in "Demolition Man". Only insiders know how they work.
2
Hmmm...how could the voters reverse this? BTW, my vehicle identifies as a very small EV. They better not dare to misgender it.
2
Generators and fuel reserves will help more people out and still charge EVs.
2
The "transition" from Bank Australia to other financial institutions should be accelerating.
2
"Green" companies like Nikola are the ultimate "Pump and Dump" investment schemes.
2
Isn't the "smart" EV supposed to do the range math for you?
2
Silver lining: the enemy can't use abandoned vehicles.
2
I think NYC should "invest" in Taycans and give them to their new preferred illegal voters. Less waste of money than they are already engaged in.
2
It always catches them by surprise, because they are woefully ignorant. Concentrating on rainbows and unicorns at the expense of actual facts seems to be a big problem.
2
I did a lot of research before buying my truck. I avoided brands and models that had issues I did not want to deal with, and even bought a brand I did not want to buy because it rated better than the competition. Any "cool factor" was irrelevant.
2
Don't forget that they spent more than $1B and are $20M in debt after losing. And you know they CHEATED! 18M Dem votes didn't "disappear" after 2020, they were FRAUDULENT votes in 2020.
2
I heard on the radio that a new air traffic control center at one of the major airports in the US had two different grids feeding in from opposite directions, generators, and batteries to keep everything up and running. And it was built more than a decade ago.
2
Someone will make a decent profit refurbishing older petrol cars and trucks for the growing market.
2
Even when they are driving, they emit "smug".
2
I hope no lives are lost during the inevitable fire.
2
Coming soon: Electronic fart mufflers for smaller EVs.
2
We spend huge amounts of money to protect nuclear wasted during shipment. Why not similarly protect us from EVs./s
1
First they push people to drive smaller, more efficient vehicles. Then they ban the small, efficient motorcycles. Fay definitely made his finger flat.
1
The fuel aisles in the truck stops are bad enough with truckers blocking them while they go inside for "A cheeseburger and 'sodee' water". Imagine the cluster f*ck when it takes hours to charge and truckers decide to take a nap and oversleep.
1
The "good news" is that they made it to the dock without burning the ship to the waterline. Isn't this pricing what we call "dumping"?
1
Why can't I have a (free) petrol dispenser in the carpark of my apartment building? (same thinking)
1
To a politician, electrical power is like taxpayer funds. If you run out, you just vote to take more (from somewhere).
1
Not just political reasons for not wanting EVs. Logic, reason, and knowledge of engineering and/or physics deter people from EVs. But then, that usually makes you a conservative.
1
The people need to go old school to deal with these commie zealots. Tar and feathers comes to mind.
1
The government is just going to come to our homes and remove any copper they deem unnecessary for our needs.
