When a seasoned professional who reports catastrophe on the daily starts to break down live on the air, this really hits home even harder. Such a disgusting and senseless tragedy. My heart and thoughts go out to all involved.

For everyone saying this man was responsible for his wife's death, let me remind you that it was ACTUALLY the guman that was responsible for his wife's death. Any other statement to the contrary is not only ignorant, it is repugnant. Show some respect and tact for this situation. Seriously.
60
@woljay9362 and y'all are making excuses for actual, legitimate cold-blooded murderers. Let that sink in.
23
@dahawk8574 that parent should Google velcro
19
that's great and all, so the police can collect the footage after you are dead?
7
Sadly, you are probably right.

@franksmith7239 I see what you are saying, but it sounds like a dash cam wouldn't keep her alive, just record the shooting for him to relive. Maybe a statement like "If only the shooter decided to be a human being for once, instead of a miserable piece of garbage, the young woman would still be alive." Because, it's actually the gunman's fault. And his alone.
5
agreed. If we made it law that in cases like these the media was banned from showing images or revealing names, it would focus on the victims and remind potential copycats that they will gain nothing from this.
5
Oh cool. You were there and saw the whole thing with your own eyes. So you are going to do the only decent thing and report your eyewitness account to law enforcement, right? RIGHT??
4
Too soon. Have some respect.
4
Yup. Entirely his fault. The shooter was doing what anybody in that situation would do, right?
3
Paul Smith I have seen a lot of that in our school districts. Fortunately, many of our private schools around here are less tolerant of the social justice agenda.
3
Agreed. It's lunacy. The US is completely obsessed with guns. We have had almost 300 school shootings in the last 10 years alone. Americans need to decide what they love more: their children or their guns, and then vote accordingly.
3
@chattahuffman5117 how do you know it's not fact? Were you there?
2
@frogman1941 Hey everyone! Sounds like we found the shooter!
2
Agreed. There should be more, but the job is depressing and stressful, and the pay is terrible. Bartenders usually make 3x what social workers do. Horrifying, isn't it?
2
he didn't get her killed, don't be obtuse.
2
@DonJulio4649 Way to victim blame. When family member you care about gets gRaped, I'll be her fault for being hot, right? RIGHT??
2
Actually, the OTHER guy caused his wife to get killed. But you figured that out already, right? RIGHT??
2
@norcalandrew It sounds like you missed the point. Instead of wanting a Surveillance Society to get justice after the fact, we could work towards a society that gets rid of abhorrent behavior like this, and keeps people alive instead of just having evidence to indict the murderer. You do know fatal road rage shootings is not the norm with most other countries, right?
2
@johngoldsworthy7135 Did you hear the report? Some sociopath was tailgating an average Joe, got flipped off for it, and subsequently MURDERED A MOTHER IN COLD BLOOD. STOP blaming the victims for this abhorrent tragedy. Start putting the blame where it is supposed to be. The soulless murderer who took a life because he was called out for his BS behavior. What's wrong with you?
1
7 million dollars less 'profit' for that jail. Do you think they will learn from this? Me neither. Rest in Peace, Mrs. Austin.
1
So you think the perp's side will justify his actions? That outta be good...
1
Rest in Peace, sweet souls. And props to this media outlet for not identifying the name of the murderer. He deserves no recognition.
1
@arturobelmonte6803 agreed. It was entirely his fault. His wife deserved to die. The gunman was totally justified. So, It's like when women get gR@ped - It's their fault for being hot. They asked for it, right?
1
or you, clearly.
1
@Illunworth objective statistical source, please?
1
@BigWheel. I see what you're saying, but does it bother anyone else that most people have seen a picture of the shooter, and maybe know his name, but could't probably name even one of his victims? That is the problem with infamy. He becomes the most recognized part of this vile tragedy, and I believe most people would agree that he should NOT be the most important piece of this story.
1
@davidb2206 you want to blame his parents??? That's why people do horrific acts like this because idiots like you won't hold them accountable for their actions, and instead blame it on mommy and daddy.
1
@misaelfraga8196 oh, he was bullied? Totally acceptable behavior then! I first thought what he did was repugnant, but now that you mentioned he was bullied, I hope everyone stops bad mouthing this poor, helpless gunman. Sounds like he did the best he could. Maybe we should create a statue of him on the school grounds so everyone can remember all the pain and suffering he went through. What do you think?
