@axeman6560 I'm looking into one, but my concern is the longevity of those thumpers for street use. I don't wanna have to have a $2k rebuild every 50 000 miles. Is your mileage typical for dual sports?

@axeman6560 makes sense. How much street riding do you do? It's roughly 30 miles one way just to get to trails where I live, plus I would be using it for commuting with some freeways, so there would be a fair amount of street use. Do you think the KLR will put up with that kind of abuse long term?

@axeman6560 That was a fun tour! We went in August. We got to check out the North island and Waiheke, but sadly didn't have time to see the pretty one down south. Next time. Y'all have pretty mild winters, like here in California. I did catch a wicked cold that I couldn't shake though from the frigid bay winds on the way out to Waiheke tho, that I remember. And I (sort of) remember that y'all can really drink! :0

@axeman6560 Nice! What part? My band was lucky enough to tour the South Pacific, and we spent about a week in NZ. Good memories! :)

@kumabearsan8835 the KLR has skinny tires, a high seat height, and is 500lbs. Not really a maneuverable machine compared to 300sm.
