  2. Actually Midnight Memories is a rip-off of Cherry Pie by Warrant, who intentionally ripped off Pour Some Sugar on Me because Warrant needed a hit. Pour Some Sugar on Me intentionally ripped off I Love Rock n Roll because it went to number 1 in the early 80's. Seriously. True story.

  6. It's not about notes tho. It's about phrasing and cadence. And lyrics. The possibilities are virtually endless, but, yes, some will sound similar - if you stick to one key, common chords, and time signature for every song.
