  2. Another absolute horror classic is John Carpenter's Prince of Darkness. I've never seen a film that has such an aura of complete dread. The feeling that all of the protagonists actions are utterly futile is so well executed - as are the protagonists.

  3. Have you seen it yet? The Exorcist is one of those rare films that has exactly the same impact as it did when it came out 50 years ago. It is legitimately terrifying, even today. The Exorcist III is also a phenomenal direct squeal.
