  1. Never met a self taught heart surgeon in all my years of meeting self taught mechanics. Mechanics don't open up running engines to fix valves and holes, surgeons do.

  2. I've rebuilt over 10 various engines, not many compared to the pros. I can say that its expensive, time consuming, fun, interesting and great problem solving. You'll need loads of space. Start off small, photos and take your time and please never lever a screwdriver between mating faces or casings.
