Still not stopped people leaving the services. Until you fix accommodation, food, infrastructure, ailing numbers and increased workload on the remaining your not going to keep anyone
14
π π π Same goes for the uk's future conscripts.
10
And millions of pounds of free weapons.
10
Β @gregft1979Β nukes wasnt the only reason japan surrendered. They had a greater threat to the north west and was moving fast. They feared that more. Russia, read history.
9
How long before the uk goes bust sending arms for free and raking up a huge debt? Along with all our other issues internally
8
Pull the plugs turn the Internet off problem solved.
8
Who invited the compulsive liar?
7
Β @HeadloserΒ the French farmers are still lifting tons a year in old ordinance. Thats over 100 years ago.
7
Well he's clueless about what we do in operational theatres then.
7
Nope it's under 100000 it's a militia.
7
Yep more air ranks today than In 1945.
7
The RAF's biggest threat is it's top brass not getting a grip of service leavers. There will never be another battle of Britain day. Just our surrender. There is no great in great Britain, no united in the united kingdom. Its too late all this great gear but nobody to fix it or operate it. The lessons learnt from Afghanistan are distant memories resulting in the body bags of tomorrow.
6
Everything is mini in the UK. We have nothing left. At this rate, you'll have toys but nobody to fix, drive, fly or support them.
6
The same if not better accommodation than the illegal immigrants ? Hot water all year heating that not only works but is controllable.
6
How long before the military has run out of people to be operational ?
6
No idea, the UK fire stormed Dresden and the Yanks nuked a country twice.
6
Afghanistan 1800's + 2019ish?
5
What happens to defence spending when the country goes bust over the virus?
5
I wonder what we will load when we have an airforce that fights back and not desert dwellers 20'000 ft below?
5
It's not an all you can eat buffet it's pay as you dine (starve) it's the fact that they don't do any exercise, they play computer games in works time and at home. With numbers so low, those who have left have increased the work load, their is no time for the gym it's been down hill for decades
5
The u k ran out of cruise missiles in libya and paveway fours. In 2011. That conflict was only 6 months long. These guys have been at it 8+ years.
5
British forces has done this. Wasnt till afghan was well underway. Did kit improve. But people still buy kit from boots to gloves.
5
With a tiny army smeared across the globe, tiny airforce running fast jets from 4 runways and the RN large ship adding up to 20....i bet they are terrified with their natural resources, industry and people on their continent called home.
5
Returns home for more repairs. Everytime I've been on this it goes wrong. We made it to France once and it lost its turbines. They flew the spares to Japan where the QE had the same problem. Had floods, fires and other issues. Built worse than a British Leyland Marina.
5
If ukraine was winning the flow of military hardware would be slowing down. It is not. Its increased.
5
You've sped up technician training ten fold. While jets get more complicated training is cut. The problem is the youth have no hand skills. No technical understanding. Decades ago you had to have this to join. Now we get kids that have the skills of a young child. Shame the top brass as so useless. Sort out retention!!! Train the youth practical not just theory. They cant even read analogue micrometers. So much is farmed out to supporting agencies..
5
All this nostalgia.......the country was in a Financial mess brought on by decades of miss spending, bailouts and helpful hands.(sound familar today)That when 1982 came by, they had to drag junk out of the scrap bin to use, they rushed the harrier into Service. If the argies had gone 6 months later they would have taken it. By that point the scrap would have been scrapped and winter would have set in down on the islands.
5
Yep more human than a politician.... These have back bones
5
Still adding trim to get rid of the vibration on the flight deck.......and how is the wing box cracking doing ?
4
All we know is government wants to spend more, cut more. With an election next year, cuts will come to fund the civil service and benefit queues all the while national debt is eye watering. When will the proper cuts start?
4
Another reason is we destroyed our ship building focused on universities and not manual hand skills. So plenty of theory folk but no actual workers
4
The pony would probably do a better job of the whole army.
4
They didnt in WW2, but still won, the largest land grabs and Berlin. With inferior technology.
4
Ah Positive press to distract from all the negative the naughty red arrow pilots are up to...... Where is red 9? With red 8's wife?
4
Keeping people in. The youngsters join up and then leave after a few years.
4
Gen Z has reinvented the wheel at last. The military at home has moved from building to building and in the feild this has been done since the birth of warfare.... .anyway how many folk have lived and worked in run down buildings.
4
ππ The uk scrapped its air defence years ago. We can watch it fly by . The biggest joke is when the west gets it war and the uk with its mass resources and industry runs out of fancy weapons , wars always come down to throwing lumps of metal at each other .....i hope the people are ready to replace the 20'000 fighting strength of the British army.
4
They let anyone in now.
3
Understood the burden of military Life?....deployed at short notice many times over, life on hold, stuck at brize many hours before a flight, that could be delayed, sleeping on the floor, loads of mis information about where and what your doing. Delayed Connecting transport, baggage handlers. The civillians dont know what there missing. Eating rubbish pre made food, broken comms home. People deployed missing birth of children. Wifes having to move House while we are away. All the det dodgers with glass backs stealing a wage. Detachments that get extended by months. The missing of family events, moments. Then the kitting terrorists......thats been uphill for decades. Then the return home that is set in sand more delays in silly places. Its like we have never deployed before......... Yeah I'm sure she was clued up.
3
Then comes down to, paying the bills supporting your family. In a capatalistic society money always wins.
3
The RAF is very soft today, I haven't heard any snco's or nco's raise their voice in years, to scared of what people may think.
3
If only those in charge looked after its man power and soughted out the mass leaving. But alas they have not. That flood gate is wide open. Only in the uk do prisioners and animals get better accomdation
3
Para para in the sky, living proof that sxxt can fly π£ππππ
3
Where to go on a flat featurless dessert?
3
What i love is the conscription question .......but not one fool has asked.....why....very quick to say no about serving there country......the reason is the military is empyting fast.......resettlement courses are booked up year plus in advance.
3
Thats a mountian of poo to deal with
3
Due to more impending cuts we have borrowed these boats from the rubber dingy massive who arrive here daily and the public does nothing about while we protect you the lazy people .
3
π€£ π the country will be bust by then too many free handouts.
3
π π π Too late I've seen the RAF smashed from the inside started with 60000 with 20 stations now we have about 8 launching aircraft but it's the juniors..... WAFU..... Work shy lazy and money obsessed
3
Thats why the uk will use conscription. Send in the bullet magnets first and the small professional force will follow. Same as ww2.
