  1. With what? Our UK industry is tiny, we ship our resources in. We are a service country, a country of pen pushes and end users. This is not 1940's Britain with large industry.

  2. If only we lived on an island.......... Upon outbreak you close airports and docks to people movement. Any citizens outside the wire, financially support them. Keeping your country running, your wrecked NHS going and if an outbreak occurs you shut down the country but the spread would be small. But alas you picked up every stray Brit flew them home to scatter to the corners of the country. Only after the body bags start mounting you do something. It's not like this hasn't happened before if you can read history.
