  1. Second hand cars are already expensive,. The problem is the masses don't fix cars, they gave up hiding behind the words "you need specialist tools or a computer". The masses keep buying these dfs sofas on badly engineered ncap safety cubes. If the people fixed their cars they would have never brought the rubbish they make today and manufactures would have been forced to actually engineer cars better. But alas the masses treat cars like kitchen white goods. Walking down a busy road you will here many many cars mechanically complaining to their owners. For example how many folk jet wash there wheels like crazy?..... How many of those pop the wheel off and regrease the calipers? People wait till the caliper seizes before they do anything at great inconvenient cost. Instead of binning the jet wash and cleaning/grease calipers once a year. Same goes for DPF, the yanks in the 70's made replacement filters but stopped as the motorist is lazy so now we have an expensive complex regen system. Cars are junk underneath colourful box, they could be far better but capitalism and it's greed won't let that happen.
