  1.  Ron Lewenberg  to be fair on Hornet. The way she went down was outright torture. Three bomb hits, three torpedoes and two suicide planes was enough for Halsey to have her scuttled. Then she shrugged off 400 5 inch shells and crappy Mark 14 torpedoes. When the IJN found Hornet they needed two destroyers worth of Long Lances to finally sink her.
