  2. Don't make a confusion between engine and sound. With the RS5 engine it would have been heavier, less powerfull, with less torque... So pretty much a worse car. It's pretty good IMO and i think that in real life the sound is different. A lot of people say that since they have driven the car they know that the sound is not a that big issue. Also you can change the exhaust and disable the Active sound...

  5. Well, carbon ceramic brakes are very expensive. I think it's pretty abvious that a supercar technology doesn't cost you 2K, and it is not stock because it would raise the price. And the stock brakes are actually very good !

  10. Colin Cas I said it's faster than the RS5 not the M4 _"  Even if i love BMW those merc cars are pretty good. More like heavy kick-ass sedan, but still good. I only have a little problem with Audi... Their cars and engine are goods, and AWD too but damn the expensive VW idea is weird !

XepojCp6uje The BS is not Normal, it has a lot of carbon, 100 hp more than the stock car, with the SLS AMG connecting rods pistons and things like that, it's 200k Euros as i said before, so an 1M more than the M3. The BS is actually the most radical C63, and it doesn't have rear seats too The GTS made 1:44 at the nurb and the BS 1:46... So i don"t think 2 sec less make it slower.  Stop saying bullshit: the GTS is faster and you have to admit it. The M4 is a very fast car and you cannot deny that !

  21. XepojCp6uje A fully equipped M4 will not even come close to 120k. It's 75k stock ok ? You add 10k for cc brakes, and 5k for the active suspension. Not even 100k. Then the DCT, you're at 93k, unique color, you're at 99k, and special leather, and interior, 105k, then sound system, and things like that, maybe 112k. In france. And the base C63 BS is 138k here (was) ! So not even close. For the laptime, i got minsinformed by the french wikipedia (yeah i know Wikipedia sucks but in french it was the best alternative). However, 60 hp of differenc does matter on the Ring and i think that's where the 2 seconds are. Also, some guy have gone 7:46 or even 7:45 in their stock GTS so...  Also the fact that it came on sale after the GTS is important, cus they made the car to be faster, just to say that they beat bmw. That's why the BS was out. The GTS was just here to be the successor of the CSL.  I have to add that the first C63 had 457 hp, so a 60 hp difference here, not 30.

  23. Kobe B Well it's still a Mercedes too, even with the AMG logo. I respect Mercedes, as they do something incredible in F1 and for the luxury of their cars. But in term of, let's say, "Drivng Pleasure", BMW do a pretty good job. You can tell it by the smiles on the journalist's faces each time they test a new ///M. As they love to sit in those very luxurious Merc, they also like to drift bimmers, and just have fun !  Even if they are direct competitors, Audi, BMW, and Mercedes have each a different approach of Automobile. Personally, i prefer BMW's one.

I prefer the balance and handling of a Bimmer, and that's because i love to drive, i love cars, i love to have a machine in my hands, control everything with a car that respond. An ///M is built for that, and when i see an ///M, i'm like "Nice job guys". Btw everyone have their own taste and you cannot change that ;)

If BMW makes more sales it's because when people have to choose in a segment between BMW, Audi, Mercedes, Lexus, Infiniti, Maseratti, they tend to choose the BMW. That's what it means. And if they tend to choose the BMW, it's because they believe that they are better. You speak about mirror but the M235i is actually as fast as the A45 and RS3, so the M2 will be way faster. The M3 shits on the RS4 and is as fast as the C63S, but in fact it's competitor is more the C63, which is slower. The M5 is faster than the RS6 and as fast as the E63.  M5 CP is as fast the E63S, and shits on the RS6 everywhere.  The 760Li is faster than the S600 too, and actually faster than the S63 (S65 is unfair to compare). The M550d, X5M50d and X6M50d don't have direct competitors. On track, the BMW are sharper and more on the purists side.  How is the brand shit anyway ?

Steven Ferguson It's funny you talk of upper market because the upper market has either RR for it (which killed Maybach), or no need for BMW to compete here (the G has no real competitor, and they just don't have a supercar, because they don't need/want to).  Saying that sale figures are nothing is basically saying that every brand can be the best one according just to your opinion. It's like you're a kind of god deciding who is better and shit.

  31. XepojCp6uje No people don't choose BMW because they are cheaper. They choose them because they fit to their needs and their business. That said if both cars do the same and one is cheaper, you take the cheaper. So they do the same thing being cheaper, which is nice.

  32. Steven Ferguson RR is owned by BMW, uses BMW engine, BMW software, and BMW chassis, BMW parts. And as far as i know, Maybach is as much british as RR. And the 7er compete well against the S, and even if they might sell more Ss, it's still a pretty good car, being the sportiest of the segment behind the S or AMG.

  33. Puny Striker The M2 is coming pretty soon ;)  Btw the bigger ones don't target the same types of drivers, and actually some people might prefer them over the smaller ones... Btw the S might have a more classy and refined look, the bit of sportiness in the 7er is worth it.

  36. XepojCp6uje Yes the 7er is sportier than the S Class, and also faster. That's why they often compare the 760Li with the S63 AMG.  MBs are not that reliable, don't they bullshit. You either don't own one or you just are a blind fanboy. The only reliable cars in the segment are the one from Lexus. Okay it's more luxurious, but it's less sporty, and let's say as reliable. But i agree that on this segment the 7er is a bit of the silly car, but still some people might want a sportier one for some reasons... Let's say it's a very big family car, and you actually want to go fast with it x)  The Ghost is not 3 times more expensive. It's not even 2 times. You have to compare the Ghost with the most expensive 7er, because the Ghost has like no option, only colors and things for the look. So it's like 150k vs 250k... Yes the difference is big but the Ghost is the really executive car from BMW Group. The 7er is an original vision of the segment, let's say it like that. And no actually it's like saying you should get an M4 instead of an M235i if you want real sport.

  37. Steven Ferguson Mercedes are not reliable at all, that's why like almost all the german cars their price depreciate a lot. You have a lot of people on the internet saying they have problems with their mercy. My parents have an old A class (well they bought it a long time ago) and damn everything breaks in it. For their lower engine they supply Renault, and Renault engines (besides the 2.0dci, especially on the Laguna) are terribly unreliable.  When you buy a Merc you better prepare your money. It's impossible that you've spent only 1200$ in 9 years on an S, which is i suppose a W220, after 80k Miles. You obviously have some parts to change after that, and damn i know how expensive even the shittiest thing is from Mercedes. On the 2014 Consumer report, Mercedes comes 25th, they are the worse of the big three, Audi being 5th and BMW 14th, and as i say, Lexus being the best overall in terms of reliability.  I compare S600 Pullman with RR because obviously in terms of price it's closer. And i haven't seen any S65 AMG vs RR comparaison... That's pointless, these are so different cars. It's like comparing a Lamborghini with a Maserati, it makes no sense.

The better equipped S Class costs half a million in person of the Maybach Pullman.  RR Ghost less comfortable than an S Class ? I don't know where you take your facts, but in terms of pure comfortability (wind noise, seats and everything) i doubt the S Class being even close to the Ghost as great as it might be.  More Reliable ? This car just came out how can you know it's more reliable, that's just plain stupid. Performance ? You compare it to S65 AMG ? That's the stupidest thing you've done, a RR is not an M or an RS it's not about performance.  The Only advantage of the Ghost is it's look ? Dude it's a RR and there's a whole package coming with the look.

  42. Amidat The F01/F02 7 series is 6 years old. A little facelift happened in 2012 but nothing really important. The A8 came in 2010, so 4 years old, but had a facelift in 2013 i think. I don't understand anything in your imperial system so i searched and i found that it is 90kg.  So it's pretty cool but not representative as it's not a general gain (maybe on some engines you have 70kg off... For example the 100+kg gain on the M3 is for me more important, just saying, as the car was "only" 1650kg (the A8 is like 2.3 tons.)

And don't forget that if in the late seventies BMW has become an Inline six company, R4 is an important part of their history, with cars like the E30 or the 2002 turbo !
