I’m 53, I feel heartily sorry for young drivers today. They will never know the joy of motoring like we have. There’s not a thing we will be able to do against this either- because it doesn’t MATTER who you vote into government any more- they are ALL SHITE and do NOTHING to preserve the freedoms of the normal populace.

@richnewall8564 so true. All our freedoms are being taken away. No smoking in pubs, now it’s no smoking anywhere, and they are phasing out smoking making the age to buy it increase every year? I don’t smoke but I believe in peoples RIGHT to have the freedom to smoke if they want. But this car business, it’s an awful future for young people today.

I think it should be said that that sub frame should have been rust proofed from new. To have no coating or protection on that part is pretty poor.

I know what you are saying, but I am talking about freedoms being taken away, and government etc having TOTAL control and knowledge of what every person does, where they are, at every moment. That’s very different from ‘feeling sorry’ for previous generations. Can you imagine driving a car that reports you if you slip over that ridiculous 20mph speed limit in an area where you can clearly see for 200 feet in every direction? And tell your insurance so that they can increase your rate? Also, you talk of generations feeling sorry for PAST generations. I am talking about being sorry for FUTURE drivers.

For £50k you could get yourself a Dodge Charger in great condition. Or even a newer Challenger. Superb cars. It’s absolutely crazy these guys paying through the nose for old escorts. Once that generation dies out and there’s no nostalgia any more, the younger generation who don’t remember them and never wanted one will not care about them. And dads old escort will come right down in price again. Without the prestige and nostalgia they’re just another old car that looks different. Saying that, I remember them and I love them, but I can’t ever have one as I am not rich. You have to have a spare £13k just for a clean mk 2 that isn’t even an rs or a sport model! It’s crazy. You could not GIVE them away in the 1990’s. Mark ones or mark twos. Nobody wanted them. If you’d bought some scrap rs’s in the 90’s and parked them up, you could be a millionaire today.

@tameracingdriver it’s going to be awful. It’s going to be worse than George Orwell’s 1984. Like I say, it doesn’t matter what government you vote into power- they all take away our freedoms more every year. My god, they’re supposed to do the will of the people? What a joke that is.
