@Lenariet I still think Asmongold and Penguinz0 are the same person.

@NeoCodingGod "I read something but forgot what it was". Wow mic drop moment.

You know crypto was a bubble when a mostly satirical channel like Techlead would be taken seriously on crypto advice.

I learned about Trademark vs Patent in a 5 minute youtube video, so I saved another $1,000

What do you mean "simply accept"? These are new companies looking to advertise, so how can Youtubers know all the ins and outs of said company before accepting a sponsor? And if no one ever accepts a sponsor how can a new company ever advertise? These are simply inherent risks in the market, so the best idea is don't give all your money to some company you have never heard of. Risk what you are willing to part with.

Honestly 15 is pretty good in most of the USA. When I was living in Arizona I was happy when I first got $12.50, and felt rich at $16/hr.

I know two people who started coding in high school and made a lot of money. They were middle class like I was, t hey just had better focus on what mattered and had it early on in life. I'm jealous of that discipline, it took me till 30 to find that.

Their answer was enough of a self own. Anyone convinced by the utility of a sculpture of Elon's head doesn't deserve to have money.

@hhaaayyoutube That simply isn't true. He became a millionaire through real estate investing by buying at the right times and being smart with his money. He breaks down the numbers in some of his videos. To get more wealthy than that he created a successful Youtube channel, where yes sometimes his sponsors have not been good. That doesn't necessarily mean he was deliberately scamming anyone.

@zekehowey Plenty of numbskulls graduate high school and get degrees but suck with finances. A track record of being good with finances matters more than a degree.

You realize there is a lot of overlap there though

1.7 million subs?

iirc he was always a scummy influencer, and this shouldn't come as a surprise.

Nah, if anyone invested in this scam they should lose money.

Putting all your money into a new bank that is "gamifying" savings is about as wise as putting everything into crypto. Diversify, and only put money into risk assets that you are willing to part with if things go south.

Like anything that is advertised, people need to look into the product themselves and see if it is worth while.

Anyone who doesn't realize the risk - reward trade offs of investing shouldn't invest at all. Those are the very basics. If there is more possible upside there is more possible downside. That rule hasn't changed.

I just let the dictionary decide.

Spiderman meme.

An advertising endorsement is not equivalent to a doctor prescribing meds.

Imagine being a Jake Paul fan.

Who could have been manipulated by techlead. Wasn't his content always obviously satirical? I doubt anyone took him seriously, they just thought he could make the next stupid meme coin.

It's kind of great though if you are really starting a business. It means there is far less competition than there appears to be.

I don't want MLMs regulated. No one is forced to work at an MLM, and adults should not be treated like children. If they want to be a slave to some pyramid scheme business, let them do it so I can have a good laugh.

@jt_rooster3228 non violent? What??

@jordanpadula2624 He does seem like a hard worker. Being a hard worker doesn't mean always being ethical.

@Karai-x7r If everyone was self employed they would be like contractors, which might be better really.

And he did it again. Lol.

Frankly I don't blame the influencers. A paid ad with influencers is no different than a paid ad on television. If you decided to put all your money into a crypto exchange yeah take some responsibility, but also sue the crypto exchange or defrauded you. All they told you is "here is a crypto exchange". None of them said "it is my professional opinion you take all your money and put that into FTX". They seemed like a legit company and everyone was fooled. Get over it.
