@bobics So a 1.2% chance of success instead of 1.1%? I'd take the slightly lower odds of great success to live in a place I like better.

I think you are right. Though it is also easier to incorporate items like maps than it was then. I worked on such a start up project and it looked way better than the first airbnb.

No offense, but for all the talk you guys do about not looking for "conformists" to work with, the Bay Area is about as conformist and PC as it gets.

I'd gladly not live in crime ridden SF even if it means my start up ends up making 20% less over its lifetime (which likely isn't even the case).

People are fundamentally broken so this will always happen. That's why Jesus called on us to repent and rely on God for guidance.

Hopefully you learn from the West's mistakes and don't let your society degenerate like we did.

I think Musk is going to prove to have no thought through things enough. But his get it done attitude is admirable

I will never trust an AI agent. This is a hacker's dream come true.

Conspiracy means a group of people planning criminal activity. Theory (in this case) is a theory about such activity. It may be based on strong evidence or not. People nowadays use the term "conspiracy theory" to be synonymous with untrue. That seems like wishful thinking.

I disagree about the concept of a mercenary. A mercenary is a contract soldier. It doesn't mean he's trying to bilk the company, it just means he comes in, does the job, and may or may not care about the overall mission. It's like the HVAC repair guy at the office. He doesn't care about your company vision, but he does care about his reputation as a repairman.

Video game analogy was excellent.

Good for a prototype that will need to be re-written.

This video was right on the money (pun intended).

I would agree on the skipping college thing, as a self taught developer. Not to say college doesn't have value, but I got my motivation to become a developer by working full time at jobs I hate. Of course it doesn't work for any career path, but for tech it is great. Plus college is too woke now anyway.

I'd rather dangerous freedom than comfortably slavery. Will never support self driving cars.
