  4. Though I agree with your overall thesis, the first slides are misleading. No one is obligated to pay taxes on accumulated wealth. The taxes they paid on income were significant. Let's say I'm a normal person who has amassed a net worth of 1 million dollars over 20 years. I don't want the government looking at me saying "you only paid 0.1% of that wealth in taxes this year, we'd like 10%"
