  1. To be fair, has any European country done any other kind of deals with Africa? It is always about control. France acted like it owned the Congo. NATO acted like it owned Libya (and ruined it). The World Bank has been giving out loans in exchange for resource control since its inception (see "Confessions of an Economic Hitman"). I think the lesson is to never ask for help unfortunately :( .
