  1. @Loaf "Plasticky?" The only plastic on this gun is the furniture. Everything else is metal. And I would say it is actually better made than an original FG-42, which was almost dangerously underbuilt to meet the Luftwaffe's weight requirement.

  2.  cody sonnet  No, my comment was completely correct. Ian even made a point of mentioning that fact in one of his videos concerning the FG42. In order to meet the weight requirement put out by the Luftwaffe, they cut material out wherever they could to lighten it up. There is not much of a margin of safety built into some of the parts. The Luftwaffe didn't want it to weigh more than a standard K98 Mauser rifle. I'm not sure if they successfully met that goal, but the Luftwaffe was obviously ok with the end result, which is why they adopted it.
