  1. +Owain richards I have several Taurus revolvers that are made out of titanium (frame, cylinder, crane, etc.) However, the actual barrel is a steel sleeve pressed into a titanium barrel shroud. If titanium was a good barrel material, I think they would have gone with it, just like they did with the rest of the gun. And it's worth pointing out that these guns were made before the price of titanium skyrocketed. I doubt we will ever see guns like these Taurus revolvers again, unless the price of titanium drops back down. The price of that particular material is why you don't see many gun manufacturers using any titanium parts.

I also have one that has an aluminum frame, but it has a titanium cylinder and barrel shroud (the barrel is a steel sleeve pressed into the shroud.) It would be cool to see more guns like mine, but that is unlikely to happen. Taurus stopped making them when the price of titanium skyrocketed. And the price of the material is why you don't see many gun manufacturers using titanium parts, let alone making an entire gun out of it.
