@connor5669 we’re talking about the teachings. The crusades were done to stop the violent Muslims. There’s a difference between violent conquests and defense of that violence.

@connor5669 again, the TEACHINGS of Christ are not violent. You keep talking about PEOPLE, who sin and don’t always follow the TEACHINGS. Anyone can call themselves a Christian and then go do unChristian things. For example, Catholics or Christians who are for pro choice.

@connor5669 Christianity doesn’t promote violence, unless it’s in defense of oneself or others. Whatever they did in the past wasn’t the teachings of Christ. People twist Christianity to use it for their own agenda. Tell me where in the Bible that it PROMOTES violence. The Bible says “thou shall not kill” and to love your enemy and you neighbor. He also teaches forgiveness and grace.

@connor5669 also, the monks did not abuse the native Americans . That’s a lie. They were free to leave the missions if they wanted. It’s the conquistadors who were violent.
