@tenofivelips minimum wage was actually made by racists to get blacks out of the workforce and black low skilled workers didn’t want it. It suppresses wages/work instead of letting the market set wages. Now more companies are going automation bc it’s cheaper than minimum wage and more people will be unemployed. Mcds workers might get $20 an hour but their hours will get cut bc the businesses will lose money by paying more for minimum wage AND salaried employees so they’ll cut the hours for the minimum wage workers and now all those people will flood the market looking for a second or third job bc of high inflation/gas/housing prices, which means less work/wages for everyone else bc they’ll probably do a gig job like Doordash which means more people doing delivery/gig work.
