Let's face it British people are not very friendly and often barely know their neighbours. So having a stranger in their homes is a step too far. I would say the problem is rooted in a lack of community as well as the obvious cultural and language differences. I am generalising I know. The scheme to house people in your home was never going to work here.

@SnowofLight Some of the comments really reflect poorly on the British people. If you decide to take people in to your home and you get paid for it, then be more flexible with your rules. These people are not your children living freely under your roof to follow such strict rules. Though the woman that took all the chicken kievs was clearly taking the you know what.

@pw3066 I live here, so I'm not just speculating. I did say it is a generalisation though. How often do visit your neighbours house for a friendly chat? It's not a criticism of British people but a sad observation.

Please and thank you are NOT commonplace in all countries. As A Brit visiting Pakistan it doesn't exist in their everyday conversation. This is not indicative of rudeness or being uncouth in ways of communicating but just the norm.

@pw3066 It's not propaganda it's many people's lived experience here in the UK. There is no community, people are too afraid of one another's differences to start a conversation. Our politicians have destroyed and neglected our cities and towns with no jobs and the closure of places where people can come together like libraries and community centres. People become used to isolation and just stay home and as a result no longer want to socialise with others. It's very sad. You are an Aussie so you won't have the same insight as someone born in the UK.

@cszrwi I agree with you. It's sad to see how quickly things have deteriorated here even further with Boris as our PM. Our rights are slowly being taken away and the Labour party are in full lockstep. You clearly made a smart decision to leave.

Boris is directly to blame for this situation. Zelensky and his team were ready to negotiate with the Russians but he directly intervened to stop a settlement from occurring, he promised more support and weapons. The poor Ukrainian people would rather be back in their own country but now it may cease to exist in the near future.

@The_Savage_Wombat You've been watching too much mainstream media! The Ukrainian's are shelling their own people and having been doing so for many years. Russia has already won, you don't keep throwing weapons at a hopeless situation, you negotiate. Watch the Duran channel on YouTube if you are interested in being informed of the military situation on a day to day basis.

@ВикторияДрагоценная-п1ь You may not belong to the Russian's but you have more in common with them than the British people. The EU are a disaster, all the leaders are a bunch of idiots, they are destroying their own nations for the American imperialists weapon manufacturers. The Ukrainian's are victims of their own stupidity to trust the West.
