Clarence Spangle the stone age only had nomadic people, all the old religions have common roots. The Jewish gnostic Lucifer is comparable to the trickster god archetype. Loki is another, and these two have many things in common. Something about magical fruit and living forever as well as tricking the other gods.

Clarence Spangle Yeah, all the old religions got all mixed up as people traveled and intermixed the beliefs. Its likely that long before history was written, that people all over the world believed in some other god that was similar to both Loki and Lucifer. There are no true "pure" religions, as the world was never a vacuum and people have always been absorbing foreign beliefs and spreading their own. Loki was a god of fire, invention and trickery. These things often go together in the old religions. Invention, trickery, technology (of the era) are all linked in the old myths with the control of fire. I can easily understand how some cultures could consider these ideas to be evil while other cultures consider them to be good.
