  1. They have been doing that for the last ten years. They used mercenaries in Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Yemen and Lebanon. Then they said to the public that they didn't have"troops on the ground". For ten years they have been doing this.

  2. A lot of stuff really is Russian disinformation. USA is only Christian in select regions of the south and Bible belt. The majority of "Christians" in USA are Christian in name only and don't go to church, read the Bible or hold Christian values. So when you see super religious moral stuff in USA, nine times out of ten it's not really American conservatives, it's Russians pretending to be American conservatives.
