  1. Neutron bomb is just a normal nuclear bomb, the atoms are split by freed neutrons in a chain reaction. The moniker Neutron bomb just describes a bomb made from plutonium rather than uranium. Pound for pound they are stronger than uranium bombs but it is still reliant on a fission reaction. Fusion bombs, AKA hydrogen bombs, are the big boys. They work by having a mix of tritium and deuterium (isotopes of hydrogen) in liquid form (no oxygen, not just plain heavy water), at the center of a sphere made up of plutonium or uranium. When the fission warhead explodes it forces the hydrogen into fusion and this is much more powerful than a typical fission reaction. Pound for pound they are orders of magnitude more powerful than conventional nuclear weapons. The most dangerous nuclear weapons are not dangerous from their explosion but rather from the nuclear fallout they create, they are called "salted nukes" and they are intentionally made with isotopes that create large amounts of radiation, they can render an area unlivable for thousands of years, they can throw up a plume of radioactive material that spreads over a large area with wind potentially rendering entire small countries uninhabitable.
