let's consider some statistics real quick and see where we should place our bets on this. how many terrorist attacks have there been in the last decade in the US? now how many of those were instigated by the FBI? my bet is on poor maintenance. the FBI is my 2nd guess. they need reasons to deny encryption, so maybe some cell phone is involved somehow.
