  1. Used to be that half of the children died under ten years old. This was horrible for parents and great for society. The ones who made it to eleven were a cut above the rest. We aren't barbaric like that anymore. Instead we embraced genetic degeneration by preserving the bad apples. Very unhealthy people survived to have many unhealthy children. That is what we have inherited.
