  2. Media companies should be held economically responsible for the effects of their fear based lies on the public. They are inciting hatred, encouraging violence and polarizing society. How many people have bought into the lies told by the like of Racheal Maddow? The news companies that perpetuate this type of fake news and conspiracy theories should be held financially liable for the effects of this type of propaganda on the population.

  3.  @osufan77  I agree, they should be paying too. I am sorry if my example was one sided. Anytime a person can make a reasonable link from their mental health problems to lies told by the mass media, they should be able to sue those media companies for the cost of their mental health treatment.
