  1. develop bacteria that triggers the immune system to attack the dangerous bacteria more quickly. instead of replicating the chemical attack, replicate the bacteria that produces the chemical, and bio-engineer it to be benign or beneficial to humans while at the same time competing for the resources that are used by the other bacteria.  we have a lot of harmless or useful bacteria, why aren't we trying to use them to make hybrids that help fight the problem?
