  1. the idea that you can just turn off an AI is part myth. by the time it becomes dangerous, you won't be able to do that. look at how mass surveillance has become dangerous. can you just turn off your phone if you don't want the CIA to use it to spy on you? can you just turn off your TV if you don't want the government to use it to spy on you? even when the device is "off" it still functions as intended and spies.
