There used to be a "exploitable" algorithm that would deliver high quality content that was popular and had lots of interactions of people who would challenge any errors. This was changed because well it would go against some political narratives from time to time in pursuit of truth or sometimes morally gray content. The algorithm was changed so that things would be more diverse and equitable, and now we have stuff more like this. Content was much better before YouTube had ads and advertisement revenue. The commercial content is what ruined the platform. Funny enough, censoring YouTube among many other platforms is what caused the rise of TikTok. TikTok only had to do one thing, allow the content that was being censored on other platforms. That alone caused their success. It's ironic and sad that many Americans were fleeing to a Chinese platform in order to practice their first amendment right to free speech and free expression. This is the logical result of breeding censorship and putting in nanny programs to try and control information flow rather than keeping it in the hands of the public.
