so why are we continuing to fight assad? the guy might have done some douche bag things but so did hussien and look at what happened to iraq after we toppled the brutal dictator. assad's overreach towards citizens without water has caused much grief, turmoil, and unnecessary deaths. the same is no less true of the united states' occupation of iraq. it is government overreach that is the problem, it will not be solved by using more government overreach. peaceful negotiations are necessary, and we have no more right to call for the resignation of assad, as he does to call for the resignation of our leaders. we must be working towards peace, otherwise refugees will continue to be a problem.
