  1. International trade makes countries weak and dependent. Nations should strive to be able to meet as many needs as possible independent of each other. This reduces reliance and increases autonomy. Its more than just countries though, individual people should also do this although your personal expectations for full autonomy and full self reliance should probably be a little low.
