That is partly true. The thing is that most desirable (read young) women don't even want to settle down with Chad. They may be willing to for the moment but they are still looking to monkey branch. It isn't until they get close enough to the wall to see that it is impending doom that they try to settle down. By that time it is often too late.

The new research says 15% not 5 or 20. So about the best one in 7. I will point out that this research was done on tinder and okcupid. What I mean when I say top 15% is that women have rated a guy as above average at that point, and below average if he is under it. So perhaps the 5% thing may be accurate in that they are looking for attractive and not average. I won't complain about that though. I am more picky than they are.
