  2. Does being cold cause a metabolic response that causes hair follicles to grow, or your skin to develop more of them? It seems to me that if you shaved an area of your body that was normally exposed to the elements, and you were in cold weather where your hair actually was a functional thermal insulator, that perhaps that causes new hair growth. Then later, when the hair you shaved off grows back, there will be more hair. I suspect this to be the reason of the myth, that it is true in some climates.

  5. At most points of my life, I have worried about losing fat. I think it's because of the hard problem of solipsism. I know how judgemental I can be about fat people even if I don't voice my opinion. I assume that others are the same but are scared of admitting it or have been habituated to very unhealthy standards and environment. I don't accept excuses for being fat for anyone, me first and foremost. I'm just under or over twenty percent bodyfat at any given time in the last ten years, and that is too fat, needs to be between ten and fifteen percent.
