I don't find the portable conduction stove we got because we have no gas because there was a gas leak very easy to control. It switches on at six, turning it down is really slow and I was quite scared of it to start off with, things burn faster and the beeps it makes when you move it off the stove to cool it down or do something are genuinely (at least for this autistic) traumatic (as is being shouted at btw) - and all the settings are controlled by buttons and one dial in a way that's really confusing and heard to figure out intuitively and just lacks natural multisensory haptic feedback in a way my brain feels designed for: it's probably because it's a cheapish cut-price one we got whilst we're making up our minds (still a lot of money, but so were the butane camping stoves we were using instead, and there wasn't a good when we moved in) and trying to work out the fear of major house building work needed to reset one way or another (with a household comprising multiple disabilities and a gifted autistic teen doing GCSEs plus COVID) - just even having the energy to contemplate it, work through the steps etc. And did I mention that being shouted at isn't really helpful!?

My dial is impossible!!! Or just very clunky and scary - I was doing so much better at not burning stuff before we got this, now it's nearly every meal I cook.

The beeps are also horrible. Hospital stay PTSD triggers, kid car drama reminders similarly, and just auditory pain anyway!!
