Sadly there are people who do try to get narcotics & sedatives at the hospital when there’s nothing wrong. And he is talking fluently & calmly so he can indeed breathe just fine. He had a panic attack & yet he was saying he couldn’t move??? I don’t think anyone should be treated rudely like that, but I can certainly understand why she was sceptical about his behaviour

Hospital is not the place to go for an anxiety attack. Especially if you know that’s what you’re having. Hospitals are supposed to be for life threatening emergencies. Suicidal behaviour, psychotic breaks & other mental health disorders are potentially life threatening. Anxiety attacks aren’t. If you hyperventilate enough you might pass out but it won’t be for long, just long enough for the breathing & carbon dioxide levels to get back to near normal. It’s like a reboot on a computer.

@RainyFoxUwU “collapsed” can mean he actually passed out or his legs just went weak. If he was hyperventilating, the calcium shift makes it hard to use muscles (hence why fingers, hands & feet go numb & start to spasm) & makes people feel dizzy so his legs could just not have held his weight anymore. Or the emotional response to a panic attack makes some people just curl up in a ball on the floor, close their eyes & not want to respond to anyone, so people think they’ve passed out. Doesn’t mean they’ve actually fainted or gone unconscious. And the news exaggerates things. The ambulance wouldn’t “rush” someone having a panic attack to the hospital. We’re not going to risk everyone’s lives in traffic for a non-life threatening condition. Especially when taking a bit longer to get there makes no difference to their outcome as they get treated on the way.
