  1. ⁠ @rogrambo Your perception is completely skewed if you think this isn’t a high stress situation. And if that is normal to you & you’re no longer in active conflict zones, you need to get counselling. Being in a war zone, you know that you’re likely to encounter shooting pretty much any moment. You’re prepared for it to some degree. Especially if you know you’re heading out on a mission. Even for cops who are called to an incident, the same thing happens. They have at least a few minutes to prepare. But going from chatting to kids about wearing their seatbelts to running towards gunfire at a shopping centre, knowing you’re alone & with no idea how many people & what you’re facing, is a whole different story. And tbh, I highly doubt you’re a real veteran with a name like “rogrambo” 🙄 Sounds like the kind of name a kid who plays lots of computer games gives themselves trying to sound tough. People that are actually tough, don’t go around trying to tell everyone they’re tough 🙄

  2. That cop’s heart must have been going about 500 beats per minute. It’s one thing to respond to an incident knowing you’re going to a mass shooting where you can mentally prepare yourself a bit, but to be telling kids to wear their seatbelt one second & then running towards a mass shooter is a whole different story.
