How could he hear them when he’s singing, the music is loud & thousands of other people are just having fun not realising people are being crushed to death

Human crowds are dangerous as hell because once you get a mass of people moving in one direction, there’s nothing you can do but move with it & try to stay afloat. People probably didn’t even realise they were stepping on him

@richb2752 I’d be devastated if it was someone I loved, but would also realise that most of them would have been physically unable to stop stepping on him or may not even have realised that there was someone under their feet. It’s not like he was in an open area & they just ran over him to get out because it was the fastest route. I’m sure the people who were in that area are horribly traumatised at knowing they accidentally contributed to his death

Performers can’t see much from the stage. It’s all a blur of lights pointed at them & background noise. If anyone should have called for the event to be stopped it was security once they realised multiple people were down, but I guess maybe they were busy trying to deal with everything? Unless you’re there it’s impossible to know for sure until the coroner’s report comes out.

I feel really bad for that guy. He tried more than most did & I hope that’s some small comfort for him, but it’s hard for organisers to listen to some guy screaming at them. Every person working there would have expected someone in authority to tell them to shut it down, not some random kid from the crowd, so the camera guy probably wouldn’t have listened to him, even if he had contact with people backstage.

@BringerOfDeath12 I don’t know if you’ve ever been on stage, but it’s basically a wall of lights in your eyes. The crowd is a blur - a sea of people. The only reason he would have seen the ambulance is the red & blue flashing lights. He should have stopped it then but I understand he wouldn’t have been able to tell what was really happening. No one on stage would. Only people who were near that section of the audience & were facing them or in earshot would have had a clue. There were people in the crowd right near them who had absolutely no idea what was happening, so how could people on the stage? If any of them were aware & didn’t stop the concert, then absolutely they bear liability. And the singer does hold some responsibility in that he helped organise the event & things were badly managed which goes back to planning, but that’s it.

The people doing it probably didn’t even realise or couldn’t do anything because they themselves were being crushed by the crowd. I don’t know if you’ve ever been physically caught up in a crowd, but it’s like getting swept along in quicksand.

@sheryceeastland275 People who were on the other side of the barrier just metres away from what was happening didn’t hear, so how could someone even further away with massive speakers right next to him hear?

@BoBo-pl3ww “Tooken” isn’t actually a word. The right word is taken for videos & photos

@whosmansisthis1894 He didn’t know what happened. That’s the whole point. The lights, the noise of the crowd, the music all makes it almost impossible to see what’s happening in the crowd. He would only have noticed the ambulance because they had red & blue flashing lights. He stopped the concert & asked people to make a sign if they were ok. You saw how the majority of people, far closer to the tragedy than he was, cheered & said they were fine. There is no way any artist would consciously ignore fans being crushed to death 🙄 Especially in America where people sue at the drop of a hat.

Do you have any idea what sort of chaos there is at an average packed concert? Much less one like this? The cameramen would expect to be told there was trouble by someone in authority, not some random kids from the crowd trying to climb their platforms. With the music & crowd noise, the cameramen probably thought they were just kids trying to get a better view or do a dare or something. Have you ever tried to talk to someone at a concert? Do you think cameramen have super hearing or something? Also they’re focused on the stage, not the crowd so how are they going to see people being crushed behind them? People are so quick to jump on someone to blame, but there’s a lot of people who share blame for this, starting with the kids that broke down barriers & rushed security to get in. And obviously there’s a lot of procedures that need to change in future.

@thatonepisces317 That wasn’t shown in this video & that’s all I’m going on. If they got to the stage (there’s no way in hell panicked random people from the crowd would have gotten on stage when security is designed to stop psycho fans from getting on stage) & were able to tell security & make them understand (again over the loud noise), then indeed whoever did not stop the concert & start moving the crowd out of that area is guilty of negligence at the very least. But that’s a lot of ifs. I guess the coroner’s inquest & other inquiries will identify who is actually at fault

@slayermcrx7519 It’s always worse when there’s a personal connection & they’re not just a story in the news. Hope your town is having better days

@balls6499 Possibly, but it also might feel like they’re just stepping on someone’s belongings. But regardless, they were packed in so tightly they couldn’t move & were being crushed. How could they avoid it?

@bahemukagodwin7988 No it wasn’t 🙄 It was just a concert that was poorly managed & had a bunch of kids who were too excited.

Stop blaming Travis alone. Performers can’t see much from the stage. It’s all a blur of lights pointed at them & blurred background noise of the crowd behind the loud music & their own singing. Have you ever tried to talk to someone at a concert? Well trying to hear what the crowd is saying is no different for the performers. And they’re the performer - they expect other people to tell them if something is wrong & that the show needs to be stopped. Someone should have told him to stop it. And if anyone should have called for the event to be stopped it was security once they realised multiple people were down, but I guess maybe they were busy trying to deal with everything? Unless you’re there it’s impossible to know for sure who is ultimately responsible, but it’s definitely not one person. Everyone from those who broke down the fences, stormed the security checkpoints, pushed past other people, to those who designed the crowd area, didn’t control where the crowds went, didn’t tell the stage to shut the show down, security who didn’t start hauling people out of there... the list goes on. It is a terrible tragedy but hopefully one people will learn from so it doesn’t happen again.

@S.Shugars Are you kidding me??? You think that it was some kind of ritual to deliberately ignore kids getting killed in front of him? 😳 Wth is wrong with people like you? 🤦♀️
