As soon as someone feels like they’re going to faint, or shows signs of it (going pale, sweating, nausea, vomiting, seeming dazed, swaying etc), lie them down on the ground in the recovery position (on their side with their head tilted back a bit to keep their airway clear. No pillow). If it’s a simple faint, they will rapidly regain consciousness like this guy. DO NOT leave them sitting up or hold them up. Their body is literally trying to lie them down so it can take a quick break & restore blood pressure & blood flow to the essential organs like the brain. Many people faint at the sight of blood or after a big adrenaline rush. I suspect this cop’s subconscious had a major “oh 💩 what if she has Hepatitis, HIV etc” as well as just dealing with the adrenaline dump of the arrest. Plus if he hadn’t eaten enough, his blood sugar could have dropped after the adrenaline of the arrest. If someone doesn’t rapidly recover consciousness after being lain down (30 secs or less), or injures themselves during the fall to the ground, call for an ambulance & watch their breathing closely, as it means it’s not a simple faint.
