I could not imagine living in an open plan cell. Even just in prison with other people making noise all the time would drive me crazy. I certainly don’t plan to ever commit a crime to put me there & hope I’m never in a position where I’m forced to commit a crime to protect someone

As long as the animals are kept safe & loved. There are many animals that do desperately need homes.

Just insane that there are 16 levels of appeal plus clemency. 2-3 maybe if there are issues with evidence or problems with the actual trial. But 17??? There are people who do not deserve to live because of the choices they made & who they are. Darrell Brooks is one of those. Shame Ohio doesn’t have the death penalty.

As long as the animals are kept 100% safe while they’re in there, I can see how it can benefit both the animals & people. Probably the people more as they can learn how to be human & love & protect a living being who won’t ever judge them. I wonder about the noise & the other criminals though. Are the cats allowed to & actually safe to roam? Although I suspect the inmates who are allowed pets would actually kill for them.

@jasonmccallop6605 What he was referring to is exactly what the people of Waukesha want to know about why the Christmas Parade murderer was let out on $1000 bond after a long long criminal history in at least 3 states & after trying to run over his ex with the same car he used to murder 6 people, injure 61 & traumatise thousands.

There are people who claim remorse who are very obviously just saying it. And people who commit horrendous crimes who never even claim remorse like the Waukesha Christmas Parade murderer. But I think the guy who murdered the 4yr old & her mother, I think I can actually see genuine remorse in him for what he did & not just for the loss of his life. Life in prison is a just sentence for his crime. As is death. But at least he regrets what he did & can now behave like a decent person. That doesn’t mean he’s safe to release, but for people like that, maybe there should be a life in prison where they can have jobs & participate in programs that begin to make recompense to the communities where they committed their crimes. Instead of just letting them waste away for 23 hours a day doing FA, give them constructive things to do that actually benefit society. Even the ones who don’t have any remorse should be working. Not for their sake as much as for the people they have hurt & murdered. If you look at any of the “worst prisons in the world” compilations, you can see so many wasted lives. There must be something beyond punishment. If they’re not put to death within a year or two of their sentences, then just letting them waste years doing absolutely nothing but focus on appeals doesn’t really benefit anyone.
