  1. It also wasn't desirable but a mitigation against welfare, he wanted to get rid of it entirely, but found that it would minimally be better to incrementally do so. Personally I'd say the only thing we should've considered for that was social security, unfortunately for that its too late and we're about to go bankrupt over it.

  2. UBI cannot work in the longer term for any society that runs on high time preference, and it is utterly useless in the best case for a society that runs on low time preference, thus the argument for it is stupid from a simple rational basis, plus its still an expansion of the state.
