This just sounds like a global issue, especially among millennials and zoomers, I can't think of a single westernized country that doesn't suffer from this problem (granted Japan is one of the worst off, but literally none of the countries in Europe or the Americas have a sustainable fertility rate and their dating metrics are just as bad) from maybe the steppe countries in Central Asia, but of the countries that have a concept of "dating" there isn't a single country otherwise that maintains a functional "dating culture". Kinda makes you wonder if arranged marriages were the primary solution for a reason.
