Problem: Cops take minutes where seconds matter, and may not even bother entering the building because they're scared Their Solution: Put guns on site to reduce the time it takes to stop the shooter and force the armed guards into a fight Our Solution: Never bother fixing the issue and blame the gun, making the cops do more work for less results and violating the rights of everyone who didn't break the law so they can be killed by the one guy who is actively breaking the law and violating everyone else's rights. Seriously if you think armed guards, or even armed teachers, present a threat to the children (or incite threat, even though the only time you can recall a shooter being from the same school was Columbine, which was during the Assault Weapons ban) you don't well understand the situation at all, this has been a tested method, going back to the 60s and 70s high schools had in school clubs for rifle shooting (and some rural towns had in school hunting clubs) and they didn't have any problem with shootings. Hoplophobia is only what it is now due to ignorance and lack of experience, and listening to the propaganda by the guys who don't want you to have a gun.
