@richmcgee434 Tbf both are spinoff terms of the same concept, reproduction and the lack of it, English conventionally likes to simplify things and keep things short, (especially since it'll just use anything it thinks sounds nice) which also often results in informal speech and a lot of slang. The lack of true standardization in English has pushed this principle way further then you'd find in other languages, which both makes English super flexible and rather complicated. (and generally very unspecific, least as far as alphabetic languages go)
