The reason this makes no sense is its excessive safety paranoia (there are reasonable limits to safety, and if its not gonna kill its likely gonna also teach a "respect me" lesson if most of the other safety features were to fail) that costs design and development time and money, even more being pointless given that in functionally any case where something happens and you can reach the switch, something will trip anyway shutting it down or blowing out a fuse, the safety paranoia is useless regarding power unless all these other safety features fail which at that point another safety feature, specifically one you can't control (or incite to shutdown, which again if you have already violates any purpose you could have of a switch) as well if those were to fail, would not help you.
