yes, normal things

drop in the water compared to human industry
4
it is gaining ice, yet at a diminishing rate, the losses however are recorded to be growing its not balancing out because these gains are not new, Antarctica had been gaining ice for hundreds if not thousands of years but the stations we put there have recorded these gains steadily going down
3
for the good of the country? you cant have the whole population living with nothing made of wood how many things around you is made of wood?
2
it was warmer locally, records show that the global temperatures where relatively unchanged, the global temperature is higher today i can understand that if you saw a graph of temperatures around the Atlantic you might mistake it for being a good comparison to global temperatures
2
do you also make sure you wear clothes that are not from different fabrics? do you also make sure to not have any dairy products when you eat meat products?
2
doom? what
2
it means that people who build pagan churches like to use what nature has provided and also nearly every town and many farms have their own church already no one wants to build a christian church if they already have one
2
thats why we have youtube right?
2
eighty eight comment
2
@newstartyt3700 that already what they intend to do, they are the forestry service after all they are not a public business, planting is priority number one but it also serves to provide wood without having to import it
2
"FN jobs"?
2
it is, capitalism can be a driving factor to fix this, people are just too dumb to know that they way to make capitalism better at fighting emissions is by taxing emissions i often hear people who rant about democrats, bernie sanders and healthcare that "bla bla socialism bad" and what i have seen in their long rants online is they mention a neat fact "free markets innovate under pressure, planned markets break" but then its often the same people who go "carbon tax!! thats socialism" like listen, if you think its so nice to have this flexible market with the super power of innovation then why not use that ability not saying you are on either side when it comes to carbon tax, im just having a small spill of ranting here i agree capitalism can be great you just gotta actually use it
2
there is a prominent one being built near the capital, i havent checked but it might be finished now or it should be soon
2
yea
2
"these cycles" cycles say we should be cooling not warming we have warmed the planet a whole degree in just 100 years point to the last time that happened on earth, no not the medieval warm period that was regional and global temperatures where stable no not leaving the ice age that took thousands of years maybe sometime before humans? lets see, there are some extinction events that sort if line up, ah yes, that settles it, if the last time this happened thousands if not millions of species went extinct that means we will be fine
2
@thetruthalwaysscary yes, the ice age still happened, and it may have had a small effect in preventing reforesting here in iceland, but the larger cause for that was and still is sheep grazing, sheep eat everything not on legs, that includes saplings and yes, the atlantic climate is still colder but thats because of regional atlantic currents, the little ice age was most harshly experience by those around the atlantic well actually you could go as far as to say it was only experienced by them
2
why?
2
if you keep on replanting you are doing better than a regular forest because you are making way for new trees to grow once you chop down the tree its still there, the co2 hast hopped out, you still have that mass which will be used for buildings and furniture that we need anyways, if not for planting our own trees to chop down we would have to import wood
2
agreed, but cutting a tree down does not negate the carbon it took out of the air
2
yea? did you not hear it well?
2
HUMANS LIVE IN CITIES
2
so they should just keep importing wood when its needed becasue thats BETTER than growing trees, harvesting them, and plating new ones
2
@dantenelson1624 furniture, floorboards, and entire buildings small fishing villages arent going to be building modern houses from steel and glass
2
other way around, your god or "yaweh" is a kobold of evil nature who swayed the people of the middle east to follow his evil deeds
1
agreed, religion is that of the mentally unwell
1
could it possibly be inspirational for male teenagers?
1
what species? we dont really have any species that rely on trees
1
its both, they are continuing to expand their forests, some are not for harvest, but some are, its good to have a way to locally source wood because humans will always need some wood, i do doubt they well ever extend to the point where we will be exporting wood
1
i wish
1
cutting down lumber whilst replanting is healthier than just planting, because if you just plant yo will still need wood for furniture and buildings, and if not for forestry in iceland we would have to import wood, and thats worse because it is brought using fossil fuels and could be from a forest that is not replanted thus being a part of deforestation what you might not get is that wooden floors and wooden tables are still wood, the carbon is still there, even if the free is cut down, the wood is carbon, and as long as its not in the air thats good
1
its just a lie until you back it up with proof
1
greening is measured by the color that satellites pick up, not actual productivity of the plants most of the "greening" is moss and birch in tundra our actually productive rain forests continue to shrink no one is suggesting to go bellow 200 ppm, some even just want to go down to 300 ppm its not good to in just 300 years release as much co2 as it took 50 million years to sequester
1
actually karl marx had a better answer than the bible did
1
the amazon is a garden, it has been shaped over thousands of years by its inhabitants to replace the trees with ones that bore fruit most trees in the amazon are fruit trees, in small isolated parts where humans havent been the ratio is not the same and there are relatively few fruit baring ones we have and we will always shape our environment
1
@michelleart3780 youre pretty godless yourself
1
i dont see a problem with satanic churches, that would be neat
1
it killed the native trees, did you not get that?
1
@marleyboy9864 then we just stop using coal
1
you seem to forget what they said about native trees
1
well hes wrong
1
so are you saying scientists should be banned from public funding and instead all scientists should have a secured state funding which by law cant be taken away no matter the result? sure, im fine with that, actually in europe at least in my country the some scientist do get that, where they have secured funding, yet.... their results still line up with other scientists....
1
yes, because we all know that an entire continent couldnt possibly have temperature differentials
1
if every family used ecosia you might be able to get more than one tree planted per day
1
thats because you read news headlines not science reports show us the science reports from 40 years ago that said we have 10 years you are not immune to propaganda, you have been made to believe that science made these claims
1
Towelie maybe it is normal where you live, i dont know you
1
Towelie we can trust scientists for the most part and currently for the most part its is clear that human activities need to be regulated
1
Towelie switch over to renewable energy and nuclear instead of carbon emission based energy production also to minimize waste production especially not recyclable waste
1
Towelie chernobyl was ENTIRELY preventable, it was cause by sheer stubbornness of those in charge and lack of regard please read up on it
1
Towelie "Can be when it geta out of control" they where in control, they just didnt do anything because they where too stuck up and stubborn, if they had followed simple procedure the whole thing could have been avoided
